About the Initiative
Over 11 incredible years, we showcased the talent of Canadian producers and their amazing content for kids through the Shaw Rocket Prize. Finalists were selected by esteemed industry professionals, after which kids from across Canada provided the final vote to crown the winner. The Shaw Rocket Prize journey has evolved into a broader initiative that celebrates the unique and important voice of our youth.

Throwing it back to the 11-year history of the classic Shaw Rocket Prize:
17 programs have been crowned winners. They each received the coveted rocket trophy at the Gala events
34 industry professionals made up the International Jury throughout the years, including executives from multinational companies such as Disney, BBC, Nickelodeon, ABC Australia, France Télévisions, Discovery Kids and Super RTL Germany
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau created a video message to help celebrate the 2016 Prize. It was presented for guests at the Gala. Watch it here!
