Shaw Rocket Fund announced the creation of an interactive Rocket Forum, a new three-day program dedicated to showcasing and exploring the state of the children’s media sector in Canada. The Rocket Forum will take place from September 21 – 23, 2021 as part of Content Canada’s annual flagship event.
Historically, Shaw Rocket Fund’s Rocket Report has been instrumental in highlighting the state of the Canadian children’s media industry and increasing awareness through research. This new, reimagined event will allow Shaw Rocket Fund to present its definitive research virtually, as well as offer a comprehensive program that explores the industry’s many facets and its global impact.
The new Rocket Forum will launch digitally in 2021, with a view to subsequent years featuring both digital and in-person activities as a dedicated stream of Content Canada. Details about the event, including program schedule, interactive workshops, briefings and enhanced networking opportunities will be announced in the coming weeks.
“We recognized a need to examine how the Canadian children’s media sector has been affected by all the significant and evolving changes to the entire media industry,” said Agnes Augustin, President & CEO, Shaw Rocket Fund. “Content Canada provides a fantastic platform for the Rocket Forum to bring the kids’ industry together to discuss its present state, while keeping the focus on what’s important to kids today.”
“Content Canada is delighted to partner with Shaw Rocket Fund to present this definitive look at the state of the Canadian children’s media sector,” said Ferne Cohen, Content Canada’s CEO. “Including a dedicated, comprehensive program focused on the kids’ industry as part of Content Canada’s flagship event will ensure opportunities for growth in this important content vertical.”
