Expansion to team with headshots

Gave Lindo is welcomed to the Shaw Rocket Fund Board of Directors; Becki Brisson takes on VP of Business Affairs & Operations; Mica Taiah joins as Content Analyst

Calgary, Alberta (January 24, 2024) – Shaw Rocket Fund announced today the addition of its newest board member, Gave Lindo, as well as the promotion of Becki Brisson and the addition of Mica Taiah to its team.

As the North American Head of Content Programming at TikTok, Gave Lindo brings a wealth of experience as an executive, lawyer, and board director within the media and cultural sectors which spans across film, TV, streaming, social, gaming, and live events. He joins the Rocket Fund Board as a Director. His previous roles include leading CBC’s digital content offerings, including CBC Kids and launching the streaming service CBC Gem, as Executive Director of OTT Programming.

“We are so pleased to welcome Gave to our Board,” says Christine Shipton, Rocket Fund Chair. “His broad and relevant experience will be a fantastic addition as Rocket Fund navigates the rapidly changing media world to meet kids where they are today when it comes to consumption of that media.”

The Rocket Fund has also enhanced its team with the promotion of Becki Brisson to Vice President, Business Affairs and Operations. Brisson has been with the Rocket Fund since 2012 and has been instrumental in Rocket Fund’s evolution over the years. She has fostered a multitude of fruitful and trusted relationships with producers nationwide.

A new Content Analyst is also being added to the Rocket Fund team. Reporting to Becki Brisson, Mica Taiah brings over 15 years of entertainment experience, most recently from Warner Bros. Discovery, where she specialized in kids and family content as part of the Digital Team for Latin America and US Hispanic markets. Rocket Fund is pleased to bring on Taiah after her internship with the Rocket Fund as part of Centennial College’s Children’s Media Postgraduate Program.

“We are thrilled with Becki’s well-deserved promotion,” says Agnes Augustin, Rocket Fund President & CEO. “Her dedication to the industry and to the Rocket Fund is unwavering and we look forward to what she’ll bring to her new role. The addition of Mica will round out our team, and her digital and international experience will prove highly valuable. I’m excited to see what these great people will do for the Rocket Fund and the effect they’ll have on the industry!”

These enhancements strengthen the Rocket Fund team and allow Agnes Augustin, who this year celebrates 20 years leading the Rocket Fund, to focus on her role as an advocate of the industry and to seek like-minded partners for the Rocket Fund who are passionate about the sustainability of the Canadian children’s media sector, while helping navigate change on its behalf.
