About the Initiative
Children’s online safety is of utmost importance to the Rocket Fund. We joined forces with the kidSAFE Seal Program to bring online safety certification to Canada with the Rocket Online Safety Program (ROSP), which gave all eligible digital content the ability to be certified.
The Rocket Fund has long recognized the critical importance of online safety for children. For eight years, we operated the Rocket Online Safety Program, which brought the kidSAFE Seal Program to Canada, offering free certification to ensure Canadian digital content used by children met strict technical privacy and security standards. Close to 50 Canadian companies participated, and we contributed towards 160 kidSAFE Seal certifications. While the program had to conclude in 2025, it laid vital groundwork and demonstrated a clear appetite among Canadian creators for meaningful and accessible safety certification.
About kidSAFE Seal
The kidSAFE Seal Program is an independent, global safety certification service and seal-of-approval program led by industry experts and designed exclusively for child friendly digital content and technologies. Certification signifies that the digital content meets online safety, privacy and/or security standards for children. The kidSAFE Seal badges have reached over 200 countries. Members of the kidSAFE Seal Program include Kidoodle.tv, Cartoon Network, Roblox and Discovery Kids Latin America.
