Agnes Augustin, President & CEO

Since 2004, Agnes Augustin has proudly overseen the Shaw Rocket Fund and its commitment to be a champion of Canadian children’s programming through the Fund’s investment practices and the creation of various initiatives to support the industry, such as the much celebrated Shaw Rocket Prize. Prior to joining the Shaw Rocket Fund, Agnes was a Manager and Vice President of Business Affairs for various production and distribution companies, Head of Production for CMT, as well as an independent producer.

 

Nancy Laing, Vice President, Partnerships & Finance

Nancy Laing is the Shaw Rocket Fund’s Vice President, Partnerships & Finance. Nancy brings over 17 years of film and television production experience, having overseen over 80 hours and $45M of programming through her own company, Earth to Sky Pictures, as well as for various other production companies. In addition to her film and television experience, Nancy has held senior management positions in finance and marketing for several geoscience service companies.

 

Becki Brisson, Manager, Business Affairs

Becki Brisson is the Shaw Rocket Fund’s Manager of Business Affairs and has been with the Fund since 2012. Becki fosters valuable relationships with producers nationwide, helping them navigate through the application process and the children’s media industry to produce successful programs. She has overseen hundreds of investment applications and contracts as an integral part of the Fund. Prior to joining the Shaw Rocket Fund, Becki worked on the production side as an Associate Producer and Business Affairs Manager for various television and film production companies. Becki’s extensive knowledge of kids’ media comes in handy when exploring content and platforms for her inquisitive and energetic children.

 

Lisa Amato, Manager, Strategic Communications

Lisa Amato is the Shaw Rocket Fund’s Manager, Strategic Communications. Kicking off her career in the web development industry in 2010 in marketing and project management, she has extensive experience working with both global corporate enterprises and local non-profit clients. She uses her knowledge of the digital space to help promote the discoverability of Shaw Rocket Fund investments, and works with members of the industry to highlight our initiatives and partnerships.

 

Nicole Buck, Office Coordinator

Nicole Buck is the Shaw Rocket Fund’s Office Coordinator. As an administrative professional with over fifteen years of experience, mainly in the engineering consulting world, she is excited to immerse herself in the children’s programming industry. She looks forward to supporting the Shaw Rocket Fund’s partners as we strive to invest in quality Canadian kids content.
