What we do

Initiatives

With Wildseed Studios, we launched a talent show to find Canada’s next cartoon superstar. We look to Canadian animators, budding to experienced, to submit their auditions. Read more about Startoon.

The Shaw Rocket Fund hosted a workshop in partnership with YouTube where Canadian producers were shown how to use the YouTube platform to generate larger audiences, monetize their content and maximize discoverability in the YouTube space.

We’re thrilled to have a hand in programs that help to advance and promote quality Canadian programming worldwide!

As part of the Ottawa International Animation Festival, we sponsor the Shaw Rocket Fund InGenius Jr. Day, which takes place at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa. As a day for kids, families can drop in to a number of free workshops, which include creating GIFs, animations and sound effects.

We wanted to create something that would showcase the talent of our Canadian producers and their amazing Canadian content, and from this came the Shaw Rocket Prize, an annual award for the best independently produced children’s, youth or family program. Read more about the Shaw Rocket Prize.
